Our two-day event began and ended at Laishley Park Pavilions on picturesque Charlotte Harbor, 100 Nesbit Street in historic Punta Gorda, Florida.  See our Maps page for details.  There were several parking venues throughout Punta Gorda, but we requested that riders not park all day in the Laishley Marina/Crabhouse parking lot as this will preclude customer access to these businesses.

Friday Kick-Off

After picking up the registration packet (which included beer sampling tickets for local establishments), many riders enjoyed our special evening kick-off events.  Friday events were free for anyone who registered for a Saturday bike tour.  For those not taking one of the Saturday bike tours, we offered a registration for Friday ONLY, which included a t-shirt and the following events.

  • City Manager's Tour.  The City Manager lead an informative tour of Punta Gorda giving  the latest behind-the-scenes information about what’s going on in Punta Gorda.  This was s a leisurely bike ride with many stops.
  • Sunset Tiki Party with free appetizers, sunset yoga, and a surprise bagpipe band flash mob.

Saturday Bicycle Tours

  • 62-Mile "Metric Century" Tour
  • 30-Mile Tour
  • 15-Mile Tour
  • Mystery Tour  😯

All Saturday rides featured breakfast, ride support, snacks and drinks, lunch, bathroom facilities, and phone numbers in case of an emergency.  Rest stops were open until 12:30 (or until the food was gone).  Riders then returned to Laishley Park for FREE massages,  a delicious lunch (vegetarian or non-vegetarian), FREE BEER, free ice cream, and entertainment.  All was included with the ride registration.

The 15- mile route went through Punta Gorda neighborhoods and along the Peace River.  The 30 and 62-mile routes included ten miles along Webb Lake in the Babcock-Webb Wildlife Management Area.  The 8-10 mile Mystery Ride made several stops around the city.  There was something for everyone!

Final route maps and other details were e-mailed to registrants before the event.  Maps and cue sheets were sent in PDF format and also in a format for use on your cell phone.  On event day, paper maps and cue sheets were provided.

Those registering by March 12th were guaranteed a free cotton Pedal and Play T-shirt in their chosen size and gender.  A supply of free cotton T-shirts was also on hand for those registering later or at the event.

For just $22, many riders upgraded from a free cotton T-shirt to a cool moisture wicking fabric T-shirt.
